Colorado Thunderbirds' U18 - 2009-2010 Tier I AAA Rocky Mountain District Champions

 

 The Colorado Thunderbirds Tier 1 AAA program has just completed an unbelievable feat at the Rocky Mountain District Championships in Phoenix, AZ. The Thunderbirds U18, U16, U14 and U12 teams all won their age group at the district championships. In the championship games on Sunday, the U18 team defeated Chadders (Utah) 2 to 1, the U16 team defeated the Dallas Stars 2 to 1, the U14s defeated Team Arizona 4 to 0 and the U12 team defeated the Dallas Stars 6 to 4. All four teams went a combined 18 and 0 in all games for the weekend. "We want to wish the Thunderbirds all the best as they represent the Rocky Mountain District, Colorado youth hockey and the Colorado Thunderbirds Hockey program at Nationals," said Angelo Ricci, Director of Hockey Operations and U16 Head Coach. The USA Hockey National Championships will be held in Chicago, IL April 7-11. Ricci added, "Great work by all of the players, coaches, managerial staff and parents! Go Tbirds!!!!"
